FAQ

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy addresses patterns in your life and brings you back to a level of functioning well in your day-to-day life. Coaching is for people who are already at a stable functioning level but still wish to make changes. Therapy deals with resolving the past; coaching helps you optimize the present.

Why do I need a coach?

You don’t need a coach. You want a coach because you’re looking for a support system to help you address your habits or behaviors that hold you back from achieving your dreams. My clients are wanting to find a new level of success for a variety of reasons. We delve into your reasons for wanting change.

How much time will it take?

That really depends on you and your availability and commitment. Action like this can be frightening because you are entering an unknown territory. Sometimes that slows us down, and sometimes it’s exhilarating.

What professions does this work for?

Any professional can benefit from coaching. I’ve worked with writers, lawyers, doctors, musicians, artists, entertainment executives, therapists, etc. The main criteria you need is a desire to change and a willingness to address the resistance and fears.

What will we do in coaching sessions?

After an initial complimentary 30-minute phone call in which we determine if we are a good fit, I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire and come up with specific targets for us to consider. We will address your specific concerns. If we are doing more long-term work, we will address how to approach your life from a different angle and capitalize on your strengths. Together we will determine what specific course of action will move you forward.
